2 Corinthians 5:16-17

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we hum no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.

Now in this chapter, veise 17, confirms what is mentioned in the preceding verse, That the apostles would no longer know anyone according to the flesh, because anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old things of the flesh have passed away through the death of Christ, and all has become new in Christ resurrection. To be in Christ is to be one with him in life, and nature, this is of God through our faith in Christ. Now no one was more able to reflect on that transformation than Paul who switched from a persecutor of Christ, to a proclaimer of Christ. He was in Christ (a phrase Paul used repeatedly in his epistles to speak of a believers spiritual relationship to Christ. Because he believed the message of the gospel and was identified by faith with Christ. See scripture tell us, know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so also should walk in newness of life.

To be in Christ is to be a new creation, this new creation is brought about by the Holy Spirit, the agent of regeneration, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. And the giver of divine birth, God new creative work begun in each one who believer in Christ. We will one day be consummated on a universal scale, God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away, and he that sat upon the throne said behold I made all things new. The old life of slavery to self and sin, has gone the new life of devotion to Christ means that one has new attitudes and actions, by the renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in rightousness and true holiness. That we may walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us and hath given himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
