2 Corinthians 4:7-12

7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11. For we which live are alway  delivered unto death for Jesus sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12. So then death worketh in us, but life in you. The glory of God manifested in the face of Jesus Christ is the God of glory expressed through Jesus Christ, and it is Jesus Christ. Who is the effulgence of the glory of god to know him is to know the God of glory. See he who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high. The shining of God in our hearts is to illumine us that we may know not the glory on moses pace but the glory in Christ’s face it is to enlighten us that we may know not the law of moses of the old covenant. But the gospel of Christ of the new covenant, the glory of God manifested in the face of Jesus Christ is the God of glory expressed through Jesus Christ. Now brother and sister, God’s shining in our hearts bring into us a treasure, the Christ of glory, who is the embodiment of God to be our life and our everything. See we who contain this treasure are earthen vessels, worthless and fragile, a priceless treasure is contain in worthless vessels. This has made the worthless vessels ministers of the new covenant: with a priceless ministry. Now this has been accomplished by the divine power in resurrection. This excellency of the power is surely of God and not of us. These vessels are like today’s camera into which Christ the figure enters through the flash of God’s shining. This treasure, the indwelling Christ in us, the earthen vessels, is the divine source of the supply for the Christian life. Now it is by the excellency power of this treasure that the apostles as the ministers of life new covenant were capable of living a crucified life that the resurrection life of Christ. When they ministered it might be manifested in the truth for the shining of the gospel. In his earlier letter Paul had compared himself and his fellow apostles to men condemned to die in the arena. In 1 Corinthians 4:9, For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and angels, and to men. without God’s intervention these troubles would have broken Paul, persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed; Now in our experience this is a kind of suffering persecution, or dealing that come upon us for the sake of Jesus, for the sake of the body of Christ, and for the sake of the new covenant ministry. In order that, with the result that the killing of the cross result manifestion of the resurrection life. This daily killing is for the release of the divine life in resurrection. And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul. the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
