” Heart Condition”
Obviously, we can give only what we have. Yet, too many of us don`t even realize what we have to give.
A business establishment in the Midwest was greatly changed, not because of new executives, but because of a new cleaning woman.
Not only did she clean their offices at night, she cleansed their hearts as well.
She did it by writing notes after she had finished her work each night.
Executives would come to work each morning and find notes on their desks.
The notes would say:
My heart is filled with peace. she told them about the elderly people she visited, how much she loved people and loved life, and how she enjoyed her work.
A cleaning lady that earned $7.00 per hour.
Those business executives were invigorated by the notes which radiated love, warmth, joy and a zest for life.
Acts 3:6 ” Then Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give unto thee.
What did Peter have?
He had Jesus.
What do you have?
Jesus said I abide in you and you abide in me, you have Jesus.
Peter said in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
Jesus had already said whatever you ask in my name my Father will give to you.
There is power in the name of Jesus.
Just like Peter, this cleaning lady did not have Silver and Gold, but she had Jesus, so she gave what she had.
She gave others a part of what she herself enjoyed, the true treasures of life.
Everyone has something to give others.
Give your time, give a listening ear. Give a warm heart, give your love. Give yourself.
Romans 12:1 ” Therefore I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God`s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.
Luke 6:38 ” Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
The cleaning lady gave what she had to give, and God gave her what she needed, no not a million dollars, He gave her what money can not buy.
Peace and joy and love forever.
She gave to the business executives what they needed for a new heart, she gave them Jesus, the Word.
Giving involves far more than money.
Giving is an attitude that allows us to give all that we are, have, and possess in the Holy Spirit to provide greater glory for God.
The basic principle that Jesus is teaching is that if you want to change what you are getting.
Then we must begin by doing what the cleaning lady did, giving love, goods, services, resources,
time, energy, commitment, teaching, intercessory prayer support and whatever it is that we believe would give God the greatest glory.
To God Be The Glory In All Things.
