” For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
This verse has so much in it.
Do you realize that God’s love for you is unconditional.
Lets start with the first six words of the verse.
For God so loved the world. Let’s examine the text.
The Greek word for world is kosmos which means ” the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ.”
Wow what a definition.
This means that we were ungodly, alienated from God, and hostile to the cause of God.
YET HE LOVES US ANYWAY !!!!!!!
He knows us; yet He loves us still……….
This is truly a unconditional love.
Think about it, we did not do anything to earn it, and we can’t do anything to stop it.
It is given freely……. Not because of who we are……. It’s because of who God is !!!!!!!!!!
The good news is that God’s love is not based on us. John 1:10 reads that “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.” John 15:18 teaches us that we did not love Him and it reads thus so ” If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.” This shows that He loved us knowing that we did not love Him back………..
I’m so glad today that God’s love is not based on our behavior, spiritual condition, or actions.
I’m thankful that He loved me without me loving Him first.
So now that we realized that God loved us unconditionally regardless of our actions, let’s examine how God loves us.
God’s Love is a Sacrificial Love………
So you ask Pastor Shelia what does this mean?????
Well I’m so glad you ask !!!!!!!!!
He loved us by giving, He loved us by serving, and He loved us by sacrificing…………
This is our example of what true love should look like.
Is this the kind of love you have for God and others ????????????
So what God is teaching us is the true nature of love.
God is teaching us that true love has nothing to do with what the other person can do for you, but rather it is everything about what you can do for the other person. It is giving, serving, and sacrificing.
He loved us so much that he transferred the sum of my and your indebtedness to the account of Jesus Christ, And by my name he wrote paid in full……… He added the righteousness of Jesus Christ to my account.
Now that’s Love
This is something for us all to think about……………..
Join me next week for part 2….
Thank you Lord for loving me………..
If you feel like no one else loves you, read this text and know that God loves you unconditionally.
Be Blessed and know that you are loved.
