James 1:5 says, ‘ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. I believe that God`s Word means what it says. If God says it is okay to ask Him for wisdom to make decisions or plans, then I believe Him. Prayer reveals God`s plan and our purpose.
God knows us and He knows that if we were kept in the the dark we would be an emotionally mess, driven and tossed by the wind. If we doubt the Lord`s character, motives and plans, then it is no wonder we are fearful. We must believe the scriptures. 2 Timothy 1:7 ‘ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but power, and of love, and of a sound mind. God is talking, so you want worry are you listening? Matt. 6:34 ‘ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Phil 4:13 ‘I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Matt 6:25-27 ‘ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Psalm 55:22 ‘ Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you, He will never let the righteous be shaken. Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Romans 8:28 ‘ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Psalm 46:11 ‘ God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in time of trouble. John 14:1 ‘ Do not let your heart be troubled. You believe in God: believe also in me. Matt. 11:28 ‘ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and i will give you rest. Romans 8:31 ‘ If God is for us, who can be against us. Hebrews 4:12 ‘ For the word of God is alive and active. The word gives one the complete confidence that if and when one asks, God will answer. First John 5:14-15 reiterates that verse by stating, This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of him. Sometimes God`s word is so loud and clear that we are afraid or intimidated by its directives, especially when it comes to asking, hearing, knowing, and doing His will. We get tripped up by the timing of the answer. God is always on time. Until we hear from God, we must keep our eye on Him because He will keep us in perfect peace.
