Based on the Scriptures, the religious people were looking for a great leader such as the Messiah, Elijah or the prophet. 1 John 1:29, The next day John sees Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Now Jesus was introduced to them as a little Lamb, with a little Dove, the Lamb takes sin away from men, and the Dove brings God as life to men. The Lamb is for redemption, to redeem fallen man back to God, and the Dove is for life-giving. For anointing to anoint man with what God is to bring God into man and man into God. And for uniting the believers in God, both the Lamp and the Dove are needed for man to participate in God. Scriptures said and Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him and He saw the spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
You can know this message is true, if you ask your heavenly Father in prayer, you can receive an answer from him though the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of God, and one of his rolls is to witness or testify of the truth. The knowledge can be micactidous and life changing but it usually comes as a quiet assurance, without spectacular displays of God’s power. The Holy Spirit confirms the truth through feelings, thoughts, and impression. As taught in the Bible: for the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. These feelings from the Holy Spirit are personal revelations to you that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true.
Read the scriptures daily, and trust in the word of God allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in all understanding and to bear witness of the truth of Christ Jesus.
