" if you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you"
I told my Grandson that as long as you made good grades, I would give you whatever you ask for. He said great. He brought his report card home and made all A's. He said granddad do you remember what you said, I said off course. He said I want a car, I said but you are only 12 years old, he said but you never put a stipulation on it. He was correct, so I purchased the car and holding it until he is ready to drive.
Our heavenly Father is the same way with His Children, He did promise that whatever you ask, it shall be done for you. But just like with my grandson, God want give you anything to harm you, I am glad that God says wait sometime you are not ready yet. If we are a body in Jesus and his words are biting and us, then Jesus says God will answer our prayers. Do we recognize that? But, you say, suppose I ask for something not according to God's will. If we are fulfilling the body in Jesus then we won't ask anything against his will.
The word says acknowledge Him in all our ways and he shall direct our path that means that he will direct our thoughts he will direct our desires therefore if we abide in him and he invited us we will have the mind of Christ because we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. God said if my words abide in you, that is the key 2 getting what you ask God for. Is Jesus Christ dominating every interest of Our Lives more and more? This does not mean that we are to be thinking about God always and giving all our time to soak all religious work, but it does mean that we are to concentrate on the great fight of the atonement with the greatest amount of our time even to the ordinary things of life as they are engineered for us by God we must not forget what God did for us on Calvary so we focus on him. We must make the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ the great exerting influence of our life every phase of our life will bear fruit for God. Take time and get to know whether the atonement is the central point of all power for you and remember that Satan's aim is to keep you away from that point of power. Jesus said that the cares of this world and the lust of other things would choke his word in other words if this word falling on good ground on the good soil is the word taking root in you. We can choke God's word with a yawn, we can handle the time that should be spent with God by remembering we have other things to do we say I don't have the time of course you have not time we must take time strangle some other interest and make time to realize that the center of power in your life is the Lord Jesus Christ and his atonement. Paul limited his knowledge to that one thing, for I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. We have to learn to concentrate our affinities, to determine to be limited. Yes you can have it. God's way not our way. Every gift and perfect gifts come from above.
