IN THE HOUSE

Mark 2:1-5
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people HEARD that Jesus was in the HOUSE.So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and He preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, Son ,your sins are forgiven.
I was at the pro basketball game and I heard the announcer say, Dr. J is in the house, Then he said Jeezy is in the house, in others words any move star that came to the game, they wanted you to know about it. In the text we find that their is no greater super star than Jesus Christ, when the people heard that Jesus was in the house they came running to hear Him preach. The first point that the writer wants us to notice is that the people heard, we have to run and tell folks that Jesus is in town, the first place He should show up at is your house, your spiritual house first. Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost? so when people see you they should come running to you not away from you, we should let our light shine, Jesus is in the house, my house. How do we recognize that Jesus is in your house? a tree is know by the fruit that it bears. Are you kind? are you forgiving? are you helpful? do you love? Jesus is in the house. Next Mark wants us to understand that Jesus must be in our physical dwelling, Joshua said ‘ But as for me and my household we will serve the Lord. If Jesus is in our home then the devil can not take over, the devil has to run out of the house, if you want peace, love and happiness in your home, Jesus must be in the house. Then Jesus must be in the Church House, and just because the doors are open does not mean Jesus is there, just because the choir can sing and the preacher can hoop does not mean Jesus is there. Jesus only comes were He is invited, He said were there is 2 or 3 gathered in my name I am in the mist. You will know when Jesus is there because you want leave like you came, you may come sick and leave heal, come sad and leave with joy, come broke and leave with an idea that can make you rich, come in debt and leave out of debt, God can do anything but fail, when He is in the house. Now Mark tells us that four friends carried the man to the House because he could not walk, we need friends to carry us to Jesus when we can not walk( spiritually) and we need to be a friend to carry someone to Jesus. If Jesus is in the house He will heal you just like the paralytic man, but Mark the writer wants to know that Jesus did not heal the man because of his faith but the faith of his friends, vs 5 says, When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven. We need friends that have faith in God and friends that will do anything to get us to Jesus even if it means tear open the roof, if I can just get to Jesus everything will be alright. If I could just touch the hem of his garment and will be made whole. one touch from the master is all I need. JESUS IS IN THE HOUSE, SAY HALLELUJAH.
