Look like another love TKO

Hebrews 12:1

“Look  Like Another Love TKO, I better let it go” God told us in the book of Jeremah that I know the plans for your life and my plans are not to harm you but to prosper you and to give you a hope and a future. God also said in the book of Psalms number one that I will prosper you whatever you put  your hands on. God can not and will not lie, he is not slack on his promises, he is an on time God. Therefore, if we have not received what we think we should have, then we must look at what’s holding us back from receiving the blessings that has our name on them. I believe the word of God has the answers for the question as we look into the book of Hebrews that 12th chapter would give us some straightforward answers , but I want to go back to Hebrews the 10th chapter. The word of God says that for the law, having a shadow of the good things to come. What God is saying is that you only saw a shadow of what’s to come, eyes have not seen ears have not heard what God has in store for those that love him. If we love God we will remain faithful to God and so the book of Hebrews has given us some promises, before I go to chapter 12′ let’s look at 11. God gave us some examples of people who kept the faith, even though they didn’t see the promise land they still kept the faith. The writer of Hebrews is trying to encourage us to stay in the battlefield and to walk by  faith and not by sight and to trust in the one that will never fail. By faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God, by faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain. By faith Sarah  receives strength to conceive and bore a child in her old age. Because without faith it is impossible to please God. So, first I must have faith in order to let some things go. I must believe that God will take care of me, if I let the job go that makes me work every Sunday.  If I let my abuser go, if I stop cheating on my taxes, if I stop running with the wrong crowd in fear of being alone. I must trust God in chapter 12  the writer says: a Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses  let us Lay aside every weight and sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set befor him unto the cross , despising the shame and has set down at the right hand of the Thorn of God. The writer is saying to all of us just like in chapter 11 where we named the faithful few, he is telling us that we must remain faithful because God does have a plan for our lives and it’s a plan to prosper us and give us a future and a hope on this side of the river. Once we are ready and summoned up God gives us a new home a mansion not made by hands.  In order for us to get there we must remain in the race and lay aside every weight and sin that so easily ensnares us. There is a difference between weight and sin, I thank God for taking care of the sin problem in my life. I thank God for Jesus. The weight is slowing us down from getting what God has for us. God said that I come that you may have life and have life more abundantly , but this weight is holding us back, yes gossip is not a sin, but it’s a weight, laziness is a weight and it holds us back. Evil every now and then won’t send me to hell, but it will hold me back from receiving God’s best. The word says that we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses cheering  us on to finish the race that is set before us. We have some Cheerleaders just like in the sports arena. Everybody needs someone to push them to encourage them. Our cheerleaders are unique in the fact that they cheer for us even when we are losing. We must remember to let go of the weights before it becomes another TKO. The only way we can finish this race is we must look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. We got to let somethings go, trusting in Jesus Christ, the one who started and can and will finish it. Jesus who looked beyond his pain to see the promise of restoration . His life for our sins, what’s holding you back or slowing you down?

To God be the glory
