Philippians 3 : 8:11 I count all things to be loss in view of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ. A car $30,000, A house 200,000, win the lottery 50 million, find your soul mate, all this is great. However knowing Christ is priceless. He will give you what money can not buy. Just ask the rich man, money can buy you some happy moments in life, money can buy you the best health care, the best doctor in the world, but that won’t keep you alive. Only God can do that. So let me ask you a question, do you think it may be wise to get to know; the Man that can save your life? Not only save your life but let you live forever in pardise with Him. Now that sounds great, but what is the benefit of getting to know Christ now on this side of the Jordan. The word says if I delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thy heart. What are your desires? money? love? peace? joy? great health? friend?long life? Some people say you can not have it all,God never said that, the word says if we put Him first that He would add these things for us,He said He would give us more than we could ask for or think. He said He would open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing. The key word in this text is delight thyself in the Lord, get to know Him enjoy His company, spend time with God, hold hands, walk in the park and break bread with each other. This is what Paul did in our text, He said I will give everything up for Christ just to get to know Him. why ? because it is priceless, Ask yourself the question who can put joy in your heart when you feel like you have lost everything, who is there with you when your friends leave you, or when your heart is broken. Yes knowing God is priceless and it will pay off. You may have to lose some things along the way, you may even have to sacrifice some things along the way. Family and friends may fall off, wife may divorce you, husband may leave, your job may let you go. Paul is saying that is worth losing for Christ. Having Christ means I have it all. I am the richest person in the world although sometimes I may not feel like it, or look like it. I believe the word of God. He said I am the head and not the tail. If we want a payday from God; we must be willing to pay whatever God requires, whatever the price, whatever the cost. Because serving God will pay off; not just when we die but now, today ! The word says He is a present help in time of trouble. If you want peace in your life, give up somethings for Christ. He is worth it. I know you are making some sacrifice now. Please do not stop, payday is coming, This world wants you to act like them; do not do it, payday is coming, keep your mind on Jesus. Push those things out of your life that are keeping you from knowing Jesus. I don’t mean just reading about Him; but getting to know Him. Once you know Him then you will know yourself, then you will love yourself because God is love. Then no one can steal your joy, even in the storms; you will have joy; because your joy is in the Lord. By the way payday is already here it came 2000 years ago. When a man gets paid on Friday, it is the happiest day of the week. But by Monday he is broke working for Friday all over again. But when a man realizes what happened 2000 years ago ( John 3:16) for God so loved the world He gave His only Son to die for you. When man accepted this, then every day is payday, not just on Friday. Payday is coming !!
