2 Timothy 4:1-8

1. I Charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables; 5. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

At the beginning of chapter 4, Paul said to Timothy, I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, whose salvation you are to proclaim, and who is coming to judge the world and all that shall be found then alive, and all that have died from the foundation of the world, and not only in the name of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, but in the light of the coming judgment. Paul is saying to Timothy, that he need to keep this commandment without spot unrebukable until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the establishment of his millennial kingdom. the scripture, said looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our savior Jesus Christ. God has given all judgment to christ because he is the righteous judge . Brethren and sistren scripture, said for the Father judgeth, no man but hath committed all judgment unto the Son (John 5:22). He hath given all authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man, now when the Son man shall come in his glory, and all holy angels with him then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory, as the righteous judge, Christ will judge the lining on his throne of glory, and at his second appearing, he will judge the dead on the great white, throne after the millennium. His kingdom will be for his reigning with his overcome, the Lord appearing will be for judgment to reward each one of us. In revelation chapter 22:12, said and behold I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Timothy was instructs to preach the word in season and out of season, proclaim the doctrine, the doctrine of Christ crucified for the sins of whole world. The doctrine that the gentiles and invited to be fellow heir with the jews and that, for jews and gentiles, there is no salvation but by faith in Christ. Because the word is inspired and profitable for all aspects of the ministry, proclaiming that the word was to be sound and truth being led by the holy ghost. Paul tell Timothy to be about the Lord business preach the word in season and out of season, be urgent whether the time be prosperous or adverse, whenever there is an opportunity; and when is none, strive to make one, he told him to correct those who were sinning and he was to rebuke them. Then that sins rebuke, before all that others also may fear (1 Timothy 5:20). We know this witness is true, wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith. We must used scripture, these things speak and exhort and rebuke with all authority, let no man despise thee (Titus 2:15). Now Paul said for those who are doing well he was to encourage them, Paul tell him that these are the facets of public ministry: Proclamation, correction, rebuke, and encouragement, all of these things must be done with great patience and careful instruction. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness, Paul know that the time will come, to the church when men would not hear or practical the truth of the gospel, and would not up with sound doctrine, having itching ears, and listing to false teaching who would tell them what they wanted to hear, rather than face them with the truth. If any man tech otherwise, and consent not to wholesome word, even the word of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness (1Timothy 6;3). In Romans 1:18, Said for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of man, who hold the the truth in unrighteousness. Such teaching merely tickle the ear” so they can keep the people away from the truth. We neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister question, rather rhen godly edifying which is in faith: so do (1 Timothy 1:4). Paul is saying, thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience. Timothy must be ready to endure hardship as the pressure mounted up, we therefore endure hardness as a good solders of Jesus Christ. Paul tell Timothy, he must do the work of an evangelist, proclaiming the gospel at every opportunity, Paul wrote fulfill your ministry. The ministry of the word which is to minister Christ in all his riches, to both sinner and believers for the building up of the body of Christ. And he gave some, apostles, and some prophets and some, evangelists; and some pastor and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12). Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, for redemption, justification, and reconciliton and for the purpose of bring us into union with Christ so that he can save us, in his life unto glorification. Now Paul viewed his death as certain he was already being poured out like a drink offering, this refers to the libation connected with the daily offering of the lambs. Yea and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all. Paul I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Now for me is a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give at that day: and not to me only, but unto althea also that love his appearing.
