WHY PRAY

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said, Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, when ye pray, say, hallowed be thy name,.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sin, for as we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

We pray because we love God.

See John 1:14, Tells us” and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth.”

We pray because we depend on God.

I will lift up mine eye unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold; all things are become new.

We need pray in order to resist temptation.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

We need to pray because it is necessary for men to invite God to act in situation.

In whom the god of this would hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God; should shine unto them.

We need to pray because Jesus expects us to pray.

In Matthew 6:5-6, And when thou prays, thou shall not he as the hypocrites are for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.

Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou when thou pray enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which hearth in secret shall reward thee openly.

What is prayer?

What is intercession,

A number of different words are used in the New Testament for prayer in its various aspects four of the principal words are found together in 1 Timothy 2:1. See prayer is communion with God, prayer is worship, prayer is petition, prayer is the expression of dependence, prayer is conflict with Satan.
