Ladies, do you love to ride? Then we have an event for you! What better way to spend time with your girlfriends than doing something active together that celebrates your health?
This year, the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure Women’s Series is expanding to two locations: Southern California (Santa Barbara) on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Northern California (San Francisco East Bay) on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Whether you’re an avid cyclist or just a beginner, the Tour Women’s Series is a chance to ride in sisterhood to celebrate all women living with diabetes and all those affected by the disease. Diabetes is a growing crisis that affects nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States, and 13.4 million of them are women. Together, we can show the world the passion and commitment that women have to helping change the future of diabetes!
Like our signature fundraising event, Tour de Cure, this new women-focused cycling event is a ride, not a race. There are routes designed for everyone from the recreational rider to the seasoned pro, so you can choose the one that is right for you—then bask in the glow of your accomplishment when you cross the finish line!
Our goal is to get more women on bikes and increase the riding experience and confidence for women. But people of all ages and backgrounds, and either gender, are welcome to ride in support of women’s cycling and the Association’s movement to Stop Diabetes®.
And these events are much more than a chance to ride; they’re an active weekend getaway! Participants will be invited to attend a women-focused expo and activities where they can meet other women riding in the event. You’ll emerge feeling empowered, having made a difference and also met new friends.
Special thanks to Primal Wear Jerseys, Kay Jewelers, Go Macro, Dannon® Light & Fit® Greek and the Women’s Cycling Association for sponsoring the Tour de Cure Women’s Series this year!
So if you live in Southern or Northern California—or if you feel like traveling for a fun and inspiring weekend escape—we hope to see you at our Tour Women’s Series this fall!
Grab your bike, call your girlfriends and let us spoil you with a weekend of fun and camaraderie as you ride to Stop Diabetes. (And bring the men in your life too!)
