I Am The Light Of The World

Just like we need physical light, we also need spiritual light. Without Jesus, we are in spiritual darkness. We cannot find our way because we do not know where we are going.

In John 1:5 it says, “…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” This verse tells us that God is pure light, and there is no darkness. When we sin against God, it creates darkness in our lives. This darkness separates us from The 7 “I Am” Statements of Jesus God because He is pure light and there is no
darkness in Him.

The darkness also makes it impossible for us to truly understand God and His ways.

I am the true vine

When we are connected to Jesus, He gives us everything we need to bear fruit. “Abide in me, and I in you.

As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me” (John 15:4). We need His strength and His power to produce fruit. And when we do bear fruit, it glorifies God.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in
him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

What does it mean to abide in Jesus? It means to remain in Him and to stay close to Him. It means that we spend time with Him in prayer and in His Word. It means that we obey His commands.

I Am the Way and the Truth and the Life

When Jesus says that He is the way, He means that He is the only way to the Father. There is no other way to know God except through Him.

We can know things about God from the world around us. We can learn about His power and His majesty from nature. The only way to have a relationship with God is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

When Jesus says that He is the truth, He means that He is the source of all truth.

I Am the Resurrection and the Life

When Jesus told Martha that He was the resurrection and life, He was saying that He has the power to raise people from the dead.

This event was a sign of the
power that Jesus has over death. He has the power to raise people from the dead, both physically and spiritually.

When we put our faith in Jesus, we are trusting that He will raise us from the
spiritual death of sin and give us new life. This is what it means to be “born
again” (John 3:3).

I Am the Door

You probably don’t spend much time thinking about doors. After all, you go through doors many times every day.

When it comes to shepherding, gates are very important. They provide protection for the sheep.

Gates also serve as a way out to the pasture. In order to get the sheep to the pasture, the shepherd has to lead them through the gate.

I Am the Bread of Life

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)

Bread and water also played a significant role in the history of Israel.

Just prior to declaring that He is the bread of life, Jesus performed an incredible miracle involving bread.

So, He used this opportunity to teach them about Himself. He
told them that He is the bread of life.

I Am the Good Shepherd

Shepherds played an important role in Jesus’ day. They were responsible for taking care of the sheep and making sure they were safe. Shepherds also guided sheep on safe paths to and from the pasture. Sheep would also starve if they didn’t have a shepherd.

When Jesus says that He is the good shepherd, He is saying that He knows His sheep and He protects them. He leads us on safe paths and provides the spiritual refreshment that we need.

The Lord is our shepherd and He will take care of us. We don’t have to worry
about anything because He will provide everything we need. When we’re weary and weighed down, He is the one who restores our souls and leads us into a peaceful place.

I Am the Light of the World

Just like we need physical light, we also need spiritual light. Without Jesus, we are in spiritual darkness. We cannot find our way because we do not know where we are going. When we sin against God, it creates darkness in our lives.

But when we come to Jesus, He washes away our sins and He fills us with His light. His light dispels the darkness in our lives and we are able to see clearly again. When we come to Jesus and receive His light, we are translated or transferred into His kingdom.

When Jesus comes into our life, He fills us with His light and we are translated into His kingdom of light. We have eternal life with Him.

When we allow God to equip and empower us

Genesis 13:14-19 is a profound reminder that we have to let go of old things to receive what God has in store for us. Sometimes, we hold onto familiar things, even if they no longer serve us, out of fear or loyalty. However, when we surrender our old ways, we open ourselves up to the power and authority of God. There is power in transformation, and when we allow God to equip and empower us, we can experience the provision that He has in store for us. We are called to become the change we seek, and that starts by letting go of our past and stepping into the unknown. Change can be unsettling, but God’s promises are unwavering.

Let us trust Him with our future and move forward boldly towards the destiny He has planned for us.

Trust in God’s provision

The powerful message of Genesis 13:14-19 reminds us that we must let go of old things in order to receive what God has in store for us. This transformation may not always be easy, but it is necessary for us to achieve the change that we seek in our lives. Through God’s power and authority, we are equipped and empowered to become the change that we desire. As we let go of old habits and beliefs, we open ourselves up to the provision that God has for us. It is only through this process of letting go that we can truly be transformed and become the person that God has called us to be.

So let us embrace the change and trust in God’s provision, knowing that we are becoming the change we seek.
